NILA (National Institue for LeaderSHPE Advancement)

The NILA conference has served to provide leadership training to newly-elected chapter presidents from all the chapters across the US. It is an intense 4-day program which takes place in the summer, before the start of the academic years. Chapter leaders learn about group dynamics, strategic planning, goal setting and project management by professionals. This year NILA will be held from August 8-11 of 2007 in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas at the American Airlines Training & Conference Center for the second year in a row

HENAAC (Hispanic Engineering National Achievement Awards Conference)

The purpose of the conference is to expose our members to some of the top and emerging leaders in the Hispanic engineering community and participate in the College Bowl competition. This conference is usually held in the first week of October. This year, HENAAC will be held from October 11-13, 2007 in San Diego, CA.

ETCC (Eastern Technical Career Conference)

Each year, Cornell chapter looks forward to attending ETCC, as it provides members the chance to interact with professional and graduate school representatives and obtain interviews for internships and full time jobs. ETCC is a regional conference for the Northeast area where students from various schools participate. SHPE Cornell has participated for more than 5 years. This conference is usually held in late October in Philadelphia, PA.
